Better act fast—only 6,000 copies available per platform.
Releasing on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, the Limited Edition of Owlboy launches on July 13.
The purchase comes with a physical copy of Owlboy, of course, alongside a small hoard of related memorabilia. PS4 editions will arrive in a gold-tinged, calming, blue box, while the Switch editions are a blazing red. Versions for both consoles come with a certificate of authenticity marked with a production number, forever reminding you that you own one of the 6,000 unique copies created for your platform. These include a physical copy of Owlboy‘s atmospheric soundtrack, as well.
The boxes also contain a notebook with an ornate, golden Owlboy emblem on the cover, as well as a handheld game manual. A smaller box houses two inscribed coins, inspired by the in-game “Buccanary coins,” alongside two golden pins of Owlboy‘s logo and protagonist. Finally, the Limited Edition comes with a sheet of quirky Owlboy stickers, which can be slapped on all of your belongings.
Owlboy‘s physical edition launches on May 29, but the game has been available on PC since 2016 and Switch since February this year. Obviously, this one won’t include the goodies and bling mentioned above. No matter which version you’re planning to snag, you’ve got a little wait ahead of you. Might as well kick back, relax, and check out my review of the PC version.
